Funding for a tsunami evacuation tower and levees in Grays Harbor County could be cut.
GRAYS HARBOR COUNTY, Wash. — When the federal government awarded the cities of Hoquiam and Aberdeen with more than $80 million in grants in 2023, Hoquiam City Administrator Brian Shay called the funding a “game-changer.”
Last week Shay found out the grants could be cut.
“If it is lost, it would be the biggest gut punch ever,” Shay said Tuesday.
