Popular Seattle sushi restaurant shut down twice by health department over ‘excessive violations’

The chain has 11 other locations across the country.

SEATTLE — The Seattle location of a popular national sushi chain has been shut down twice by the health department this month over several violations, including operating without a valid permit.

Public Health – Seattle and King County says it first closed Sushi By Scratch on March 5 at 2:30 p.m. The reasons listed include operating without a valid permit, unreviewed operating plans and approval to ensure safe food handling and storage, and a kitchen that was unsuitable for its menu,” according to its website.
