Police exchange gunfire with suspect in Kent

The suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after firing shots from the upper story of a building in Kent.

KENT, Wash. — Police exchanged gunfire with a suspect in Kent early Wednesday morning. 

The suspect later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. 

Kent Police Department officers responded to a call of around six or seven gunshots being fired from the upper story of a building on the 100 block of Madison Avenue North. When officers arrived, they heard more gunshots that they believed were fired in their direction. One officer returned fire.
