Plea for safety in Seattle’s CID as community seeks $1.5M for revitalization amid rising crime

Last year, the neighborhood witnessed several high-profile incidents, including a day in which five people were stabbed near 12th Avenue and Jackson Street.

SEATTLE — Business owners in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District (CID), including Little Saigon, are urging local and state officials to take action in response to a recent rise in violent crime and illegal activity in the area. 

Their plea came during a press conference Monday. It was organized on the opening day of the state legislative session by Tanya Woo, a former city council member and community activist.
