Pike Place Market limiting vehicle access along 1st and Pike to boost small businesses

Starting Wednesday, entry at 1st Avenue and Pike Street will be limited to certain vehicles.

SEATTLE — Pike Place Market is launching a limited vehicle access pilot Wednesday, an initiative to reduce street congestion and support small businesses. 

The Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority (PDA) said the pilot is not a full street closure. Authorized vehicles will have access to the Pike Place Market, but non-essential traffic like visitor pass-throughs and rideshares will not be able to access 1st and Pike.
