Pedestrian killed after collision with train near Seattle waterfront

The scene has now been turned over to law enforcement officials, SFD says.

SEATTLE — A person is dead after being hit by a train, according to a social media post from the Seattle Fire Department (SFD).

Seattle Fire first shared that crews were at the scene of a train vs. pedestrian collision at the intersection of Broad Street and Alaskan Way at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday.

A few minutes later, SFD said that the pedestrian was dead and that law enforcement was at the scene investigating.

The public has been asked to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
