TACOMA, Wash. — Patti Jackson will serve as Tacoma’s interim police chief as the city works to fill the position permanently.
Tacoma City Manager Elizabeth Pauli announced the appointment Tuesday. Jackson will begin serving Feb. 24.
Jackson’s appointment follows Avery Moore’s resignation, which was effective Feb. 3.
Jackson ran for Pierce County sheriff during the last election cycle. Voters elected Keith Swank to the position during the November general election. Swank replaced former Sheriff Ed Troyer, who chose not to seek reelection.
