Over 600,000 people lost power at peak of Washington windstorm

Puget Sound Energy warned outages could last for multiple days.

WASHINGTON, USA — At its peak, more than 600,000 people were without power amid a wind storm in western Washington that struck Tuesday night and lasted into Wednesday morning. 

The damage is the result of a bomb cyclone that formed off of Washington’s coast

Just under 500,000 remain without power on Wednesday. Puget Sound Energy has the most customers in the dark, with 388,800 households without power. The Snohomish Public Utilities District reports 67,864 customers without power, and Seattle City Light reports 36,883 customers in the dark.
