Over 40,000 remain without power in western Washington as crews work to restore after storm

Nearly half of the current reported power outages are Puget Sound Energy customers.

SEATTLE — As a High Wind Advisory expires for parts of western Washington, the impact of heavy overnight gusts left almost 150,000 customers without power Wednesday morning.

As of 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, over 63,000 Puget Sound Energy (PSE) customers were without power. Tacoma Public Utilities (TPU) reported over 13,000 without power and the Snohomish Public Utilities District (PUD) is reporting over 28,000 without power.

By 10:30 a.m., crews had restored power to a significant number of customers, but over 40,000 remained without power. PSE reported just over 33,000 customers without power
