Over 30 dogs seized from Pierce County home suspected of animal cruelty, illegal breeding

The suspect was known to animal control officials due to prior offenses, Pierce County deputies said.

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Pierce County sheriff’s deputies seized over 50 animals from a property in Roy where suspected cruelty and illegal breeding was taking place.

The department said 35 dogs, 18 cats and a large horse were removed from the property, a Pierce County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) spokesperson said Monday. The suspect was known to officers from animal control due to previous offenses, the release said.
