SEATTLE — King County Metro transit operators demanded better security measures during a special meeting with the King County Council on Monday, following the recent murder of a Metro driver.
The meeting was held less than a month after the fatal stabbing of operator Shawn Yim by a passenger on Dec. 18.
Transit operators expressed their concerns about job safety, with one stating, “I am here because Metro consistently puts service before operator safety.”
