Online threat prompts brief lockdown at Marysville Pilchuck day after mass shooting anniversary

On Oct. 24, 2014, a Marysville Pilchuck freshman shot five of his classmates before taking his own life.

MARYSVILLE, Wash. — Just a day after the 10th anniversary of a deadly shooting on campus, Marysville Pilchuck High School was put on lockdown after an online threat Friday.

The Marysville Police Department (MPD) said an active shooter was reported “via an internet chat to a Veterans Crisis Line originating from an IP address in California.”

MPD said Marysville Pilchuck was placed on lockdown “as a precautionary measure.” Police first shared information about a large police response and a lockdown on social media just after 10:30
