New report finds Seattle City Light employees were drunk at work, harassed female colleagues

Since 2017, witnesses reported instances of employees drinking until they can’t function, sexual harassment and other misconduct at the Seattle agency.

SEATTLE — Forty Seattle City Light employees were subjects of an investigation into misconduct, which includes sexually harassing female colleagues, “culturally normalized” drinking on the job and stocking work trucks with alcohol, according to new documents.

Seattle City Light said a third-party investigator was hired after “multiple concerns were raised about alleged workplace misconduct within one workgroup, including drinking on the job, retaliation and sexual harassment,” the company said on Thursday.
