The Seattle Center announced last week the opening of its new, multi-story skateboarding experience dubbed the Seattle Center Skate Plaza.
The 18,000-square-foot skatepark, located between 5th Avenue North and Taylor Avenue on Thomas Street, replaces the Seattle Center Skatepark which closed in 2018.
The Seattle Center Skate Plaza was constructed by Grindline Skateparks and encompasses a public alleyway with skating areas on each side, connected with a sidewalk. The area also features a glass art installation by artist Perri Howard, which includes a glass wallride. The installation was originally created for the 2009 skatepark.
