Missing Auburn woman believed to have been taken ‘under duress,’ police say

Jackelin Perez, 21, recently moved to Auburn from Guatemala. Police do not believe her disappearance was “random.”

AUBURN, Wash — Auburn police are searching for a missing woman who may have been kidnapped. 

Investigators are looking into the “suspicious disappearance” of 21-year-old Jackelin Perez. She went missing on the evening of Oct. 13. She recently moved to Auburn from Guatemala with her husband, speaks limited English and is six weeks pregnant. 

Police say there is credible evidence that Perez was “taken from her home under duress,” and they do not believe this to be a random incident.
