Mercer Island First Friday art walks kick off with opening of ‘Weaving Stories’

The collaboration between photographers and creators is on display at SZ Gallery to celebrate the voices and talents of Afrocentric communities.

MERCER ISLAND, Wash. — Because images “possess the power to reshape how we see the world,” a group of artists came together to share their stories and photographs to celebrate the talents and culture within Afrocrentric communities.

A new exhibit called Weaving Stories, kicked off with a Friday night opening on Jan. 11 at SZ Gallery – the same day as the first “Mercer Island First Friday Art Walk.”
