MERCER ISLAND, Wash. — A man was transported to the hospital early Tuesday morning after driving his car into the water near the Mercer Island Boat Launch.
A witness called 911 after seeing a vehicle drive into the water, and rescue crews from numerous agencies responded to the scene around 6:30 a.m..
Divers managed to locate the vehicle and brought the driver to the surface after breaking the driver’s side window. The driver, a 52-year-old Mercer Island man, was treated on scene by medical personnel.
