Nearly six years later, Officer Jeffrey Nelson will be sentenced for the murder of Jesse Sarey.
KENT, Wash. — After months of delays, Auburn police officer Jeffrey Nelson will be sentenced for the 2019 murder of Jesse Sarey on Thursday morning.
Nelson shot and killed Sarey outside of an Auburn grocery store in May of 2019.
The two got into an altercation while Nelson attempted to arrest Sarey for disorderly conduct. The fight resulted in Nelson shooting Sarey twice – once in the abdomen and once in the head.
