List: Severe weather shelters, warming centers in King County

Outside a shelter on Tuesday night, a handful of people lined up to take advantage of the overnight warming center as temperatures will reach the low 30s at night.

SEATTLE — As overnight temperatures drop to freezing levels, several shelters and warming centers are opening their doors to welcome people needing an escape from the cold.  

Temperatures are expected to reach the low to mid-30s on Wednesday night and only rise to about the mid-40s on Thursday. 

King County Regional Homelessness Authority has activated its Tier 2 severe weather response, which occurs when daily low temperatures are predicted to be at or below 35
