LGBTQ+, immigrant advocates make pleas to Seattle leaders in first-ever committee on federal changes

SEATTLE — The City of Seattle held its first-ever council committee Thursday focused solely on weathering the policy changes coming down from President Donald Trump’s administration.

This comes as many leaders across the nation are being swayed by the influence of the Trump administration. In California, Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom said Thursday morning he’s breaking from his party on the topic of trans competitors in sports.
