Lawmakers, medical providers issue warning over possible Medicaid cuts

Sen. Patty Murray said the proposed Medicaid cuts jeopardize healthcare coverage for 80 million.

OLYMPIA, Wash. — United States Sen. Patty Murray said it’s time to “sound the alarm” over proposed cuts to Medicaid during in Olympia on March 17. 

Murry, joined by medical providers and patients relying on Medicaid, said the state’s budget problems could be made worse with potential cuts from the federal government.

Republicans are considering billions of dollars in cuts to Medicaid. That could threaten health care coverage for about 80 million adults and children
