SEATTLE — The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office announced 34 felony vandalism charges Thursday afternoon in connection to graffiti that has caused thousands in damages across King County.

Seventeen defendants face charges in the 34 felony vandalism cases. Prosecutors said damage estimates in the vandalism cases total nearly $100,000. 

Prosecutors said most of the graffiti cases happened in this year, but a few happened in 2021. Private businesses, Metro buses, parts of Interstate 5, billboards, the Ballard Bridge, a Sound Transit light rail car, an Amtrak train, the Yesler Bridge, a Kent water tower,
