The Kent City Council plans to establish Stay Out of Drug Areas (SODA) to combat the rising drug abuse in the city.
KENT, Wash. — Kent City Council is considering a new ordinance that would ban drug users who are charged or convicted of a crime from specific parts of the city.
The proposed ordinance is known as SODA, which stands for Stay Out of Drug Areas.
If passed by the city council, the ordinance would give judges the power to order drug users to stay out of three specific areas identified by the Kent Police Department: around West Meeker Avenue, the Downtown Corridor,
