Jury to deliberate in trial of ex-Sumner basketball coach charged with sex crimes

Jackson is facing 20 counts including sexual exploitation of a child, rape of a child and child molestation.

TACOMA, Wash. — Jurors will begin deliberations on Wednesday in the trial of a former high school basketball coach who is charged with 20 sex crimes against his players.

Closing arguments in the trial of former Sumner High School basketball coach Jacob Jackson took place on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at the Pierce County Courthouse.

Inside a packed courtroom, prosecutors and Jackson’s defense team both had the chance to share final messages with the jury. KING 5 was the only TV station in the courtroom.
