KENT, Wash. — An Auburn police officer who was convicted of murder will not receive a new trial, according to a judge ruling on Friday.
Judge Nicole Gaines Phelps denied the defense’s two motions, one of which sought a new trial and another motion seeking the court recuse from the new trial, if approved.
Nelson will be sentenced at 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 23, 2025.
