Inslee declares state of emergency after deadly bomb cyclone devastates Washington

The proclamation allows $1 million in state funding to be used for recovery efforts.

SEATTLE — Gov. Jay Inslee signed a proclamation on Tuesday declaring a state of emergency in the aftermath of November’s bomb cyclone storm that caused massive damage in western Washington.

The proclamation allows $1 million in state funding to be used for recovery efforts. In November, the deadly storm knocked out power for over 600,000 people at one point and two people were killed by falling trees.
