PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. — Port Townsend’s Fort Worden State Park gained international popularity when it was featured in the 1982 film, “An Officer and A Gentleman,” but it is now closed for the foreseeable future.
People have been renting refurbished military homes there for decades. It has become a staple for weddings, weekend getaways and family vacations.
But no longer.
