Hundreds of teddy bears donated to Puyallup hospital for families grieving infant loss

When the supply of teddy bears ran out, labor and delivery nurses turned to the community for help.

PUYALLUP, Wash. — Labor and delivery nurses at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup are overwhelmed with gratitude after the community donated nearly 800 teddy bears.

The bears serve an important purpose to help grieving families experiencing infant loss feel supported and loved. 

“It’s very common unfortunately to have a loss or miscarriage,” said Lindsey Sanborn.
