TRACYTON, Wash. — A human skull found on the side of a busy road in Kitsap County was “likely a medical specimen at some point,” according to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.
The skull, found on Dec. 3 in Tracyton, is believed to have been “sitting on a shelf indoors for many years” before being discovered. The skull was examined by the Kitsap County Medical Examiner’s office.
The skull is being turned over to the Washington State Historical Anthropologist’s Office for documentation and storage or disposal, according to the sheriff’s office.
