Although the Tsunami Warning issued for southern Oregon and Northern California didn’t come to pass, the Washington State Seismologist said it was the right move.
SEATTLE — Officials briefly issued a Tsunami Warning for parts of Oregon and California following a major earthquake off the coast.
That warning ended up expiring without any sign of a tsunami – however, the Washington State Seismologist said calling for a warning was still the right move.
The earthquake itself measured at a 7.0 magnitude and was felt for hundreds of miles down the coast.
