Got a parking ticket in Seattle? You could pay $78 in some cases

The city says the increase correlates with inflation. Seattle’s parking fines last increased in 2011.

SEATTLE — Fines increased for most parking violations in Seattle on Wednesday.

According to the city, most parking fines previously ranged from $29 to $53, depending on the type of violation. Starting Jan. 1, 2025, the new fines for most violations range from $43 to $78. This equates to a 48% increase at the lowest end of the spectrum.
