YELM, Wash. — The first day of school in the Yelm school district has been postponed after the teacher’s union and Yelm Community Schools failed to come to a tentative agreement in contract negotiations.
Yelm Community Schools (YCS) posted the update to families on its website Monday morning that the first day of school has been “postponed until further notice” while teachers go on strike.
