Fire on Mt. Jupiter near Brinnon prompts level 1 evacuation notice

Residents living in the vicinity of Mt. Jupiter are asked to prepare for potential evacuation if conditions worsen.

BRINNON, Wash. — An ongoing wildfire on Mt. Jupiter has prompted a Level 1 evacuation notice for residents living on Duckabush Road in Brinnon.

Crews from the Brinnon Fire Department and the Department of Natural Resources worked through the night to set up containment lines along the backside of residences in the 2500 block of Duckabush Road in Jefferson County. On Thursday, wildland fire aircraft were pulling water from Lake Cushman to assist with firefighting efforts.
