Fire in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood displaces a resident

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

SEATTLE — A 2-alarm fire in a Seattle apartment building left one resident displaced Friday morning.

The fire broke out around 4:30 a.m. on 12th Avenue in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, a Seattle Fire Department (SFD). Flames were coming out of the building when crews arrived, and it was upgraded to a 2-alarm fire as a result.

The flames spread from the second to the third floor of the 9-unit building. No injuries were reported, but one resident was displaced by the damage. The fire was contained to two involved units, per a fire department spokesperson.
