SEATTLE — The executive director of the Pike Place Market Foundation will resign Friday, March 7, according to a spokesperson.
Lillian Sherman, who oversees the fundraising nonprofit, is resigning after 13 years with the organization. A Pike Place Market Foundation spokesperson said it is a “private and personal decision” by Sherman.
Announcement of her resignation comes on the heels of controversy for the Foundation.
Earlier this month, the Pike Place Market Foundation withdrew from a Seattle nonprofit’s Day of Remembrance event, honoring the history of Japanese Americans.
