Excessive Heat Watch issued for southwest Washington heading into Fourth of July weekend

The Heat Watch was issued as forecast models show temperatures possibly exceeding 100 degrees.

CLARK COUNTY, Wash. — An Excessive Heat Watch will be in effect for southwest Washington Thursday through Sunday evening due to an expected heat wave.

The National Weather Service is warning of “dangerously hot conditions,” with temperatures up to 102 degrees possible.

Heat-related illnesses increase during extreme heat events, according to the Weather Service.

The Heat Watch also impacts portions of northwest and west-central Oregon.
