Driver mistakenly drives off boat launch into Lake Stevens; a Good Samaritan and an off-duty firefighter jumped in to help

The driver mistakenly drove off a boat ramp and into the water at North Cove boat launch.

LAKE STEVENS, Wash. — A driver was rescued from Lake Stevens Thursday night by Snohomish fire crews, a good Samaritan and an off-duty firefighter who all rushed to help.

The elderly driver was at the North Cove boat launch during dark and foggy conditions and made a wrong turn. The 81-year-old drove down the boat ramp and into the water. 

A good Samaritan who witnessed the accident immediately called 911 and jumped into the water to help. 

Three Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue crews arrived
