Driver crashes into fire hydrant at Kent apartment complex, 6 units flooded

The American Red Cross said 20 individuals were impacted, but it’s unclear if anyone was completely displaced.

KENT, Wash. — Six apartment units flooded in Kent on Friday night after a driver crashed a car into a fire hydrant in the complex’s parking lot. 

Surveillance video shows the person pulling out of a parking space before veering into the hydrant inside the complex in the 25800 block of 26th Place South. The driver got out of the vehicle but eventually drove away. It’s unknown if they left the area completely. 

According to the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, there were no injuries reported.
