Dow Constantine will step down early to become Sound Transit’s CEO on April 1.
KING COUNTY, Wash. — King County Executive Dow Constantine will step down before his tenure ends after being hired as Sound Transit’s next CEO.
On Thursday, the Sound Transit Board of Directors approved Constantine to serve beginning April 1. His current term as county executive was set to end Jan. 1.
Sound Transit is governed by an 18-member board of local officials from King, Pierce and Snohomish counties. Constantine has been a member of the board since 2006.
Constantine’s first term with Sound Transit will be through Dec.
