The earthquake’s center was about 44 miles east of Tacoma, according to the Puget Sound Seismic Network.
GREENWATER, Wash. — A 3.0 magnitude earthquake shook the ground in far east King County on Tuesday morning.
The Puget Sound Seismic Network (PNSN) recorded the earthquake at 9:54 a.m. Tuesday at a depth of just over 5 miles beneath the surface.
Maps showed the closest town to the earthquake appeared to be Lester, a ghost town that is closed to public access according to the Washington Trails Association.
