Des Moines business fined over $166,000 for causing two propane explosions

UNION, Wash. — A Des Moines storage tank company is facing a hefty fine from the Washington Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) for causing back-to-back explosions at a Mason County resort that sent two workers to the hospital.

Calhoun Tanks and Services has been hit with a maximum penalty of $166,423 according to L&I spokesperson Dina Lorraine.
