The Palisades Fire has burned approximately 22,000 acres with 11% containment, according to Marco Rodriguez with the Los Angeles County Fire Department
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. — Beneath an orange and brown haze of smoke in Los Angeles lies thousands of acres that used to be familiar.
“This particular fire has been impacting really dense communities, and the amount of structures destroyed has been unimaginable,” said Marco Rodriguez, public information officer for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “We are losing neighborhoods completely, and it’s pretty much redesigning the landscape of LA.”
Not only is the land forever changed, but the communities are, too.
