TACOMA, Wash. — The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County is waiving adoption fees for all dogs over the next few days as it deals with a “crisis” of overcrowding.
Adoption fees will be waived from Nov. 14-17 for all dogs. The shelter says it is currently caring for close to 200 dogs between the shelter and foster homes.
Intake of dogs has increased dramatically, the shelter says, with 400 more dogs entering the shelter in 2024 than by this time in 2023.
