The Wishing Well Foundation is searching for a new location due to increased crime at its current site.
PARKLAND, Wash. — Leadership of a Pierce County nonprofit that provides free clothing to foster children says it’s being pushed out of its longtime location by crime and unsafe conditions, including open drug use, vandalism, and a recent fire.
For more than a decade, “The Wishing Well Foundation” has operated out of a storefront on Pacific Avenue South in Parkland. Its founder, Erika Thompson, said the situation has deteriorated so badly the nonprofit may have no choice but to move — or shut down entirely.
