Construction workers thrown 10-20 feet after car hits reader board sign in Puyallup

Two construction workers were hospitalized after being struck by a sign in a car crash in Puyallup.

PUYALLUP, Wash. — Two construction workers were taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being thrown up to 20 feet when a car hit a reader board sign in Puyallup Friday afternoon.

The crash occurred at 114th Street and Canyon Road East. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said drivers should avoid the area while they investigate.

According to preliminary information, a 27-year-old man was driving south on Canyon Road when he said another driver swerved into his lane. The 27-year-old overcorrected and hit a reader board
