Bellevue mulls paid parking to ease congestion in crowded neighborhoods

Paid on-street parking could be coming to downtown, Old Bellevue, Wilburton, the Spring District and BelRed.

BELLEVUE, Wash. — The city of Bellevue is considering paid on-street parking in several neighborhoods, including downtown, as it works to make parking more available.

Bellevue launched a paid parking study in December, and it’s expected to make a decision on pricing this fall.

The city is considering adding paid parking in downtown, Old Bellevue, Wilburton, the Spring District and BelRed. The city currently does not charge for on-street parking or curbside loading.

Data from 2022 to 2024 shows parking demand in Bellevue is “very high,”
