Dr. Megan Riddle said anyone can be susceptible to an eating disorder.
BELLEVUE, Wash. — February is Eating Disorder Awareness Month, and a Bellevue doctor who treats eating disorders urges people to get treatment if they are struggling.
“Often these aren’t acknowledged and can go on for years, and we know that people have the best results in treatment when they get into treatment early,” said Dr. Megan Riddle, Eating Recovery Center Bellevue medical director.
Nearly 30 million people will experience an eating disorder in their lifetime.
Riddle said there is a common misconception that only certain people have an eating disorder.
