Rite Aid, which is the parent company of Bartell Drugs, has closed several dozen stores since acquiring the chain in 2020.
SEATTLE — The Bartell Drugs location in Seattle’s University Village is slated to close in January.
A spokesperson for Rite Aid, the parent company for Bartell Drugs, confirmed the closure Monday. Spokesperson Alicja Wojczyk said the decision came as Rite Aid regularly assesses its retail footprint to ensure it’s operating efficiently.
“While we have had to make difficult business decisions over the past several months to improve our business and optimize our retail footprint, we are committed to becoming financially and operationally healthy,”
