Amfleet train cars arrive in Seattle, allowing Amtrak Cascades to begin restoring service

The Washington Department of Transportation said the goal is to restore all train trips as quickly as possible, though some trains may have fewer cars than usual.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Amtrak Cascades will begin restoring train service this week following last week’s nationwide grounding of all Horizon-model passenger cars due to corrosion, which left the Cascades line with only one functional train and forced Amtrak to replace all scheduled trips with bus service except for a single daily round trip between Seattle and Eugene.
