Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, and Newhouse, R-Sunnyside, were among 10 Republicans in the U.S. House to vote to impeach the former president after the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Both said they saw ample evidence that the president helped incite the riot. And now both long-time members of Congressnow facing primary challenges from the right this election season.
The plan to challenge Herrera Beutler began days after that January 2021 impeachment vote.
